MDA Server Screen Layout and Menu Structure
This page explains the basic screen layout and the structure of the main menu.
Basic Screen Layout
This screenshot shows the main menu of the MDA web interface for a user with MDA administration privileges.
Top: Status row
The top area, above the dark-grayed line, is always present and is a status row.
It provides a link leading back to the main menu, information about the user logged in, and a link to logout.
After many actions (like saving something) the status area shows a success message (green background) or error message (red background).
Future versions of the status row might provide more tools, like breadcrumb navigation.
Work area
The area below the dark-grayed line is a "work area", where everything else takes place.
Where the Main Menu entries lead
Link | Access | Action, Remarks |
---|---|---|
Browse Values | Officers | Shows the measurement value browsing screen, where users can search for measurement data, view them and export them to .XLSX files |
Manage Measure Rounds | Officers | Shows the measurement round management screen, where measurement rounds can be specified. It also provides easy access to the data measured during the most recent execution of each measurment round |
Manage Label Templates | Officers | Shows the label paper management screen, allowing to specify label papers used for the deployment of barcodes and customize print margins. Much of the usability of the MDA clients comes from scanning barcodes to identify measurment points, measurement rounds, and employers. |
Manage Groups | Officers | Shows the group managment page. Employees can be assigned to groups, and groups to parts of the infrastructure tree, to reduce the number of choices presented in several situations. |
Employees | Admins | Shows the overall employee list, where the list of employees can be synchronized with the authentication backend. |
Manage Devices | Admins | Shows the device management screen, where the list of allowed client devices is maintained. |
Import | Admins | Shows the import screen where spreadsheet files with master data can be imported. We highly recommend leave this task to us, though. |
